Pizza and Wreaths 2024
Bring your pruning shears! Come for a day in the country…….make a wreath for the holidays…. make another to give to someone! Bring a friend…. or a party! There will be plenty of greens, lots of wreath rings…. demonstrations of just how to do it each hour on the hour. Pizza galore… all you can eat while you’re here. Reservations a really good idea….. we’ll be capping the number of people we can accommodate. Last year Kashaya and her crew made 112 pizzas…… just the right amount!
The General Store will be open, and it should be filled with oodles of fresh jams, jellies, chutneys and syrups…. perfect for holiday giving.
Fingers crossed it will be another glorious fall day……

Kate Marianchild will be offering her Oak Woodlands Workshop at Emandal. As well, Heidi Iverson will be teaching Natural Dyes and Inks…. Louisa Lenz-Porter will bring her expertise on making Baskets from Nature….. and Ellen Hauptli will be teaching Reverse Applique utilizing pre-used fabric/garments.
Dried Flower Wreaths
A full day to make a wreath or two with oodles of dried flowers from the Emandal Gardens. Instruction and materials provided.

Birding Brunch
Arrive relatively early on Sunday, 8am…. for an early morning birding hike with Chuck Vaughn, a lifetime birder, and longtime teacher. We’ll give you a hot cinnamon roll before your hike…. then feed you a real brunch upon your return. You’re welcome to stay to enjoy the woods, the lake, the river…. until you need go go!
St. Pat’s Whiskey Weekend
In honor of St. Patrick’s Day! Arrive Friday evening for fresh soup and bread at your leisure….. Come for breakfast in the Dining Room on Saturday, then spend the rest of the day reading, writing, playing, hiking…. preparing for an evening of whiskey tasting… and pairing. Tamar and Crispin, the crafters of exquisite artisinal spirits at Tamar Distillery and Mendocino Spirits, will lead us through a number of delightful and intriguing food and drink pairings. Kashaya and I will be preparing what we feel is some of the best farm food to go with their amazing creations. Sunday brunch will cap off this weekend in the woods.

Bring your pruning shears, any greens you might like to use and/or share (we’ll have plenty here), and your enthusiasm! $30 buys you all-you-can-eat pizza and the makings of one gorgeous wreath. $10 for each succeeding wreath you want to construct.
