Upcoming Summer-2025

Seems so far away…. and yet so close!

If you’re new to Emandal, or if you haven’t come for a number of years, here are some things you need to know. We provide breakfast each morning in the dining room…. just like we used to do. Lunch and dinner, however, are prepared by you in the camp kitchen set for your group.

  1. Most people sign up with another family or many. We have three (3) camp kitchens available…. one for each group of families coming together. The one in upper camp has the most room, and is usually where people who take over the entire camp (around 36 people) center their meals. The one in lower camp is nestled below Blue Heron Lodge, above Mossy Rock. It can accommodate between 12-14 people. There’s one more adjacent to Ashanti and Ohana, which we call mid-camp. It doesn’t seem to have as much room, but is perfect for up to 12 people.

  2. Some families choose to rent one of the houses (Bunk, Strawbale, School), but have their over-flow people stay up in camp or in the farmhouse.

  3. Individual families are encouraged to use one of the houses, since each one fits a smaller family grouping.

  4. Ice chests are used for preserving food in camp. We encourage people to pack them well and appropriately, since our ice machine can handle just so much ice making each week.

  5. Sessions for camp run from Wednesdays to Sundays…. mostly. A few groups have extended their stays. There’s one session that begins on a Tuesday and ends on a Saturday…. and Labor Day begins on Friday and ends on Monday.

  6. Sessions for houses are not limited to those days…. but most people like to come when others are here.

And below, “100 things we love about Emandal, past and present!” I found this while searching for something else, of course…… Admittedly, there’s quite a bit about food…. but not as much as I remember when looking at this before! Three meals a day were glorious, to say the least….. but there’s even more to coming back to the peace and tranquility of nature… and nurture. Perhaps there are more “things’” for you and your family to add…..
