Plans for 2021

A Crispy Thanksgiving Morning, 2020, taken down river by our friend Padlin’ Jer.

Happy Belated Thanksgiving!  Merry Early Christmas/Solstice/Hanukkah/Kwanza….and any other Holiday between now and the next time……

Zarya cutting squash from the garden (always hard) to use for a pie… and in the 670+ rolls we made for the Community Thanksgiving Dinner in town.
Although everything wasn’t cooked on the wood stove, it helped keep the kitchen warm, and kept the fried chicken and mashed potatoes just right for all five of us here.

Our Emandal Thanksgiving was tiny, compared to years past, but delicious, filled with gratitude, and quite chilly!

The morning after, still cold, still frosty.

The weekend prior, my 73rd Birthday Weekend to be precise, I celebrated with friends from the bay area, who came to help me take out dead garden material (frozen and black and slimy), plant 1000 new bulbs…. 800 tulips and 200 daffodils, and dig holes for 4 new maple trees.

They stayed in the bunkhouse, we visited and worked outside, and shared birthday cake and champagne around a warm fire on my front brick patio when it got dark.

A birthday poem topped it off!  Poignant, funny, heartfelt.

As they say, “physically distance, socially interact.”  Fortunately, the weather cooperated beautifully!  They plan to return when the tulips are in their prime!  (YOU, too, could be here to see the blossoms….. click here to see how)

As well, locally, here’s the link to Tam’s Soup of the Week.  And locally or not, here’s the link to our mail order stock…. ever so many jams, jellies, chutneys, sauces, syrups, hot things…..
