Instructor:  Guy Biederman

Skill Level:  Appropriate for All Skill Levels

Art Stay II:  September 9-13, 2020

“If I had more time, I’d write a shorter story.”  – Mark Twain

Discover the beauty and power of lyrical micro prose. Write from seeds, read published samples, and share your work in a supportive setting. Explore the fluidity of genres and learn how less can be more, how what’s left out defines what remains from short form cousins like prose poetry and flash and micro fiction. All levels welcome, there’s a place for you at our table. Astonish yourself!
Let your voice be heard on the page. Enjoy the pleasure of discovery and the earnest work of craft.

Additional Supplies Participants Should Bring to the Workshop: Writing utensils: paper, and a pen or pencil, or computer.

Workshop Reviews

“Guy is hands down, the best writing instructor/mentor I have worked with. He is passionate, compassionate, knowledgeable and very empathetic. He knows his subjects and he knows the authors that best represent the subject being discussed.  I will hazard a guess that he has mentored, guided and taught hundreds, maybe thousands, of writers over the years.  When one works with Guy Biederman, one writes.” – Ken Rodgers

“I have taken numerous workshops from Guy over the past eight years and will tell you that he is very knowledgeable and creates the kind of non-threatening atmosphere where even people who are hesitant become willing to take risks and put themselves out there. Because of that, magical things happen. People write amazing things and they become better writers because they move past their fears. Guy is a wonderful facilitator for this kind of growth. He is kind, funny and pulls the best from people. Over the years I have come to think of him not only as a gifted teacher, but also as a true friend. And on a side note, he is a terrific writer as well. I could not recommend him more highly.”  – Tricia McWhorter, MHT

“Guy was one of the early movers-and-shakers in the Low Fat Fiction genre, and not only is he a superb teacher and encourager, but he is also one of the best human beings I know. He’s someone you will like immediately…very wise, low-key, sensitive, and someone who is always exploring new avenues of creative writing. He has an inquiring mind and lives to create. I have learned a great deal from Guy, as have countless others.” – Betty Rodgers
