Shipped to us via USPS, 26 turkey poults arrived on the farm at the end of April. 14 thrived (pastured each and every day, locked up each night) until the Sunday before Thanksgiving, when 12 of us spent the better part of the afternoon getting them ready for Thanksgiving dinners. A lot of work, but in the end, absolutely delicious! Here’s the one I cooked (with plenty of help, assuredly!) for our dinner…… 44 pounds into the oven…. for 41 hungry mouths around our tables.
